Therefore, these brake pads are not suitable for the high performance car or heavy vehicles like trucks those who are go faster and carry heavy weights. Lightweight and lower speed vehicles like small cars are the best suitable for these pads.
- Ceramic brake pads: The ceramic brake pads are very expensive. These are very lightweight, wear well over time and offer great breaking performance. These are building up with small amounts of copper fibers, bonding agents, filler material and ceramic fibers. The ceramic dissipate heat well, because even after repeated hard spots the performance keeps strong. These will produce less dust and it is in lighter in color, which does not stick to the wheels. The racing sports cars will get the benefits with ceramic brake pads, for other types of vehicles may not deserve and extra cost.
- Performance brake pads: The brakes are not only helps to stop the car; these are aid at the turnings of the car. The ability of dissipate heat is one of the most important components in high performance brake pads. In the performance, brake pads mostly use the ceramic and carbon fiber. Both are well at dissipating heat and lightweight. The high performance brake pads are using in racecars. These are very expensive.
- Metallic brake pads: Most of the vehicles today have the metallic brake pads. These are made up with a mix of graphite, steel, copper, and iron and bonded to pad material. These are durable, cost effective, and good at transferring heat and gives good performance. Than any other type of brake pad, these will cause more wear on brake rotors.
For the trucks, generally the ceramic and organic brake pads are used. Because of its weight at high way, speed needs more heat bearer. In the motorcycles, ceramic and organic brake pads are commonly used.
