Know About Alcohol Liver Disease

Alcoholic liver disease is the main cause of illness and deaths in United States of America. This disease can be found normally in the people who abuse alcohol since long time. There are different stages involved in these liver disease which slowly ruins the livers performance and finally damages it completely. The more longer alcohol is consumed and in more quantities, the greater will be the risk of developing liver diseases.

The first stage of liver damage is swelling and inflammation which can be termed as hepatitis. Later it can lead to scaring and results in cirrhosis of liver, which is the final stage of liver disease. Women have high chances of getting liver diseases than men. In some cases it may be hereditary, if you take the habit as hereditary. It may not happen in all the heavy drinkers. It varies from person to person depending upon the food and the nutrients they are taking. Poor nutrition makes the liver problem even worse.

In these liver diseases, symptoms may not be seen until the disease is in advanced and severe conditions. Commonly seen symptoms are abdominal pain, loss of appetite, jaundice, dry mouth and increased thirst, weight loss, swelling in legs, change in skin color, nose bleeding, bloody, dark or tarry bowel movements and blood vomiting.

There are several changes in person’s behavior, which also include irritation, excitement, frequent change in moods, confusion, memory loss, poor concentration. It does not mean that you have to wait till all these symptoms are seen. These symptoms are seen only in the advanced stages of the disease. So it is better for you to quit drinking to avoid all these consequences and make your life less risky. It not only makes you happy, but also makes the people in and around you who always think and care about you.
