When I was browsing I found the word interpretation in a site which was about Norwegian translator and interpreters. The word Interpretation looks simple but the in-depth terminology involved in it is very difficult, so let’s know what interpretation is all about…..
“Interpreting, or “interpretation,” is the intellectual activity that consists of facilitating oral or sign-language communication, either simultaneously or consecutively, between two or among three or more speakers who are not speaking, or signing, the same language.”
There are two types of interpretation: simultaneous and consecutive. Simultaneous interpretation requires the people who interpret to listen and speak at the same time. In simultaneous interpretation, the interpreter starts to give a sentence being spoken while the speaker always speaks. In the best of the cases, the simultaneous interpreters should so know about a subject which they can provide the end of the sentence of the speaker. Since they need an important level of concentration, the simultaneous interpreters work in the pairs, with each one interpreting for 20 to 30 minutes. This type of interpretation is required with the International Conferences and is sometimes employed in the courses.
Interpretation is a highly skilled job for which one should have excellent communication skills and should be able to interpret the words said by the speaker and immediately express the same in the other target language. The Norwegian translation site has helped me to gain more knowledge about the interpretation.
