Human resource management department was formed keeping in mind the management of the organization related basically to the employees and the customers and their needs. The main function of this department is to handle the employee and employer relationship. Although now there are many other functions undertaken by the HR department, but the labor relation still remains the main consideration. Before this HR department was formed, there was a lot of injustice committed against the employees on the basis of their religion, creed, class or their appearance. To avoid these things the HR department passed certain laws and regulations. Some of the basic rules and regulations considered by HR generally are:

Affirmative Action – Affirmative action is said to be one of the best steps taken by the HR department. Affirmative action means optimistic steps taken to increase the women and children in the areas of unemployment and also to get people employment. When the hiring a firing of employees starts on the basis of religion creed or races of the employees then affirmative action is applied.

Hiring and Firing – The HR department also undertakes certain responsibilities regarding the hiring and firing of employees. No employee must hire or fired on the basis of his color, creed or race in fact he should be preferred on the basis of his work and qualifications.

Uniformity –Uniformity was one of the basic and most appreciated steps taken by the HR department after observing that in certain organization there isn’t a dress code because of which the rich are dressed much well than the poor.

When uniforms were introduced, every body at a certain place looked equal and according to their positions. For instance take the example of a school, if there weren’t any uniforms every student would have dressed according to his wish and the poor would have looked worst than the richer one.

Breaks – Another function of the HR department is to manage the different types of breaks such as lunch breaks and all. All these are analyzed and kept on the basis where no one else is disturbed.

Insurances and Securities – There are certain insurances, which are covered as the rights of the employees. These insurances include health insurances after retirement securities such as pensions leave encashment and sort.

Facilities – Some facilities are also provided by different firms and they are considered as employee rights. It should be remembered that these facility provision should also not be affected by the race or any other discrimination.
